C3H5(OH) ----> Glycerol (Glycerine) is a vicous, colorless, odorless, liquid that is widely used in pharmaceutical formulations and is often used in soap. It is hydrophilic (water loving), and is used to keep products such as dried fruits from getting too dry. It is also used in hand creams. Glyceryl trinitrate (another form of Glycerine) is used in medicines for its effects on blood flow. As a coronary vasodilator, it is used by heart patients.
